Don Francisco Unites Latin Celebrities for Haiti Relief

News | January 27, 2010

It is truly a beautiful thing to see everyone doing what he or she can to help Haiti after the terrible earthquake that shattered the capital, Port Au Prince. On Saturday, TV personality Don Francisco hosted a celebrity-studded telethon for the earthquake victims of Haiti, which last five hours. The Spanish language variety show has long been a staple of Latino households and a platform for many Spanish-speaking artists. Latin stars arrived in droves to the Miami studio for the telethon title, Unidos Por Haiti. Giving their support they donated their time with a live performance or by manning phone lines to accept donations. The telethon included stars like Colombian rocker, Juanes, Mexican pop sensation Paulina Rubio, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Maria Elena Salinas- the Latin Barbara Walters, Willy Chirino, and even Haitian Soccer player based in Costa Rica, Roody Lormera. In the midst of awards season it is great to see so many coming together to give back.
