Chicago’s Most Expensive Home

News | January 13, 2010

A $28 million dollar home in Winnetka, IL is the highest-priced listing in the Chicago area…ever. This mansion was on the market last year for $32 million as a “private” listing, but now it officially hit the market at a lower asking price. The owners are commercial real-estate executive Sherwin Jarol and his wife.

The 27,000 square-foot mansion includes six rooms, six baths, a two-story rotunda and Tiffany dome, a grand entrance, and sits on 2.04 acres. Completed in 2008, the two-story limestone mansion was designed by Los Angeles architect Richard Landry.

“The house is amazing,” said co-listing agent Timothy Salm of Sudler Sotheby’s International Realty.  “It’s definitely the trophy estate of the Chicago area.  There’s nothing else like it.” Ronda Fish of Sudler Sotheby’s also is a co-listing agent for the mansion.
