After 23 years together, Hollywood’s leading power couple, Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon, have just announced that they have parted ways.
Known in Hollywood as the liberal power couple who have broken all expectations of typical celebrity relationships, Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon have just announced the demise of their more than two decade long romance.
In a statement released to People magazine by Sarandon’s representative, Teal Cannaday, the news shocked many who saw the pair as a testament to the potential that Hollywood romances rarely live up to. Cannaday said, “Susan Sarandon and her partner of 23 years, actor Tim Robbins, have announced that they separated over the summer. No further comments will be made.” The couple was never married.
It is reported that Robbins has been living Los Angeles since the separation. Robbins and Sarandon met in 1988 on the set of the movie Bull Durham and they have two sons together, Jack, 20, and Miles, 17. Sarandon also has a daughter, actress Eva Amurri, with director Franco Amurri whom she dated prior to meeting Robbins.
Robbins is 51 years old and Sarandon is 63 years old.
