Solar Powered Car Charging Station Hits NYC

News | December 16, 2009

According to a press release sent today from Beautiful Earth Group, a credible energy company, New York City has received its first solar-powered car-charging station. Located in Red Hook near the company’s offices by Degraw Street, the charging center was built from recycled materials and is currently being used to charge the BMW‘s MINI E, one of a few cars that runs entirely on solar power. It will take three hours to charge, but then has a 100-mile range. Perhaps there will come a day when all cars are solar powered and gas stations will desolve into extinction?
