Professional Athletes to Help Children’s Charity Raise Money and Celebrate the Season

The Wender Weis Foundation for Children will hold their annual fundraiser this year on December 7 at the Golden Gate Club in San Francisco’s Presidio, replete with professional athletes to wow the kids. On hand will be San Francisco 49ers players Patrick Willis and Vernon Davis, Jon Alston of the Oakland Raiders, Brian Wilson of the San Francisco Giants, Joe Cannon of the San Jose Earthquakes, and US Olympian Brandi Chastain.

US Olympian Kristi Yamaguchi and NHL great Bret Hedican will host a special sponsor reception ahead of the main event from 4:30pm – 5:30pm. A silent auction featuring more than 100 items will follow the reception from 5:30 until 8:30. For the kids, there will be caroling, candy house decorating, face painting, and lots of gifts and prizes. Kids can even have photo booth pictures taken with the athletes. For the adults, Beach Blanket Babylon will present mini performances.

Proceeds will benefit the Junior Giants Baseball Program, the 49ers Academy, Raphael House, Holy Family Day Home, and the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center. The Wender Weis Foundation will work with each beneficiary to sponsor 200 underprivileged children and their families to attend the event.
