New Grove Restaurant Opens Tonight
While South Beach has long ruled the roost when it comes to well known hospitality areas in Miami, new sections of town have been emerging over the course of the last year, offering visitors a variety of options for taking in all that the Magic City has to offer. The Fontainebleau and Eden Roc are kings in the middle area of the beach, while Viceory, Four Seasons, and Epic (despite its recent unfortunate infections), dot the skylines south of downtown near Brickell.
In a quest to not be forgotten as one of Miami’s luxury destination neighborhoods, Grove Isle Hotel and Spa in Coconut Grove is now demanding its fair share of attention. The urban oasis is showing off $1 million worth of renovations, including the unveiling of Gibraltar, the property’s signature waterfront restaurant.
This is Miami, so of course we would expect nothing less than spectacular views and inspiring designs, but what really grabbed our attention was the appointment of the culinary’s world’s next rising star, chef Jeff O’Neill.
With a resume whose most recent entries include posts as the executive chef at Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach and also as Donald Trump’s family chef, clearly O’Neill has proven that he already knows a thing or two about delivering perfection. But it’s not just The Donald who has helped O’Neill hone his skills. The CIA graduate also worked under Charlie Palmer at Aureole, Daniel Boulud at Restaurant Daniel and Eric Ripert at Le Bernardin.
Chef O’Neill will debut all that he has learned under the guidance of such masters when Gilbralter opens tonight featuring Chef O’Neill’s contemporary American cuisine. Gibraltar is located at Grove Isle Hotel & Spa, Four Grove Isle Drive in Coconut Grove. Reservations can be made at 305.857.5007
