Aston Martin Rapide $233,000 U.K Price Tag

Everyone pretty much understands that if you’re going to drive an Aston Martin Rapide, you’re going to pay top dollar. But just how much is top dollar these days? In the U.K., an Aston Martin Rapide can set you back approximately $233,000.

British luxury car maker, Aston Martin, knows that if you’re going to do something, do it right. That seems to be their unspoken motto when it comes to producing luxurious cars that make everyone’s hearts skip a beat as the zoom past you on the street. However, another unspoken, yet equally true, fact is that if you want to live in the land of exclusive cars and divine creations, you’re going to need quite the financial back to do so.

Aston Martin has finally priced its first ever four door, the Aston Martin Rapide, in the United Kingdom, and the price tag is nearly as heart-stopping to some people as the beautiful car itself. The Rapide starts at approximately $233,000 in the U.K. (though not necessarily an indication of actual U.S. pricing). That makes the Rapide nearly two times more expensive than purchasing a basic Porsche Panamera, and more than $65,000 more expensive that the incredibly fast Panamera Turbo by Porsche.

So what does $233,000 get you exactly? Well, for starters, it gets you one of the most beautiful and luxurious cars around. More specifically, the Rapide is a primarily handmade, finely-crafted automobile powered by a 470-horsepower V12 engine wrapped in particularly attractive sheet metal. The standard kit in the four-seater will include a Bang & Olufsen sound system, heated memory seats, and dual-cast brakes in addition to an adaptive damping system. Each Rapide took approximately 220 man hours to construct.

Aston Martin is predicting 2,000 sales a year. Initial Rapide deliveries are set to begin in the spring of 2010, so there’s still plenty of time for you to crack open that check book.
