Lance Armstrong’s Stages

The seven-time Tour de France champion and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong has teamed up with Nike to launch “Stages” touring art exhibition, a global art exhibition to raise funds and awareness for the fight against cancer. More than 20 renowned artists have donated their time in creativity to express the LIVESTRONG message and raise funds for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which is committed to inspiring and empowering people with cancer.

The tour just rode into New York from Paris and will be making its was to Miami soon. The show features colorful works by a variety of talented artists, including Richard Prince (Louis Vuitton after-dark-handbag fame), KAWS (designed Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak album cover), and Futura (famous NYC graffiti artist. Also commissioned to tackle the subject of cancer are Geoff McFetridge, Raymond Pettibon, Jose Parla, Ed Ruscha, Christopher Wool, Dzine, Eric White, Barry McGee, Kenny Scharf, Os Gemeos, Marc Newson, Rosson, Crow, Taryn Simon, JR, Yoshitomo Nara, Suejin Chung, Lari Pittman, Aaron Young, Jules de Balincourt, and Takashi Murakami.

Armstrong’s new global initiative to combat cancer will benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation after the pieces are auctioned off.
