Haute Collaboration: Espen Øino and Scalfaro

Norwegian born, Monaco-based super yacht designer extraordinaire, Espen Oeino, has joined haute forces with innovative family-owned Swiss watch making company, Scalfaro, to produce the world’s first timepiece created by a watch manufacture and a yacht designer with the launch of Scalfaro For Espen Oeino.

This truly innovative and exciting cooperation between the two luxury creators was launched and presented to the public during the 2009 Monaco Yacht Show. The edition is limited to 100 pieces worldwide and the inspiring collaboration was sparked by the boundless enthusiasm of three passionate individuals who love what they do and thrive on exploring new and previously uncharted ground.

Scalfaro was founded in 2001 and has made a name for itself as the pioneer of contemporary luxury and sophistication in the world of fine watch making. Alexander and Dominik Kuhnle are proud to dedicate their energy, skills and passion to continue their family’s longstanding tradition in the luxury world. The company manufactures mechanical timepieces by “combining traditional artisan techniques with the advanced technology through flawless workmanship and keen attention to detail.”

The Scalfaro For Espen Oeino edition of 100 timepieces were conceived of on Espen Oeino’s drawing boards and perfectly crafted in Scalfaro’s Ateliers located in the Swiss Jura Mountains resulting in modern luxury at its finest.
