Richard Gere Sells Hamptons Home

News | October 12, 2009

Hollywood actor Richard Gere and his wife, actress Carey Lowell, have successfully sold their Hamptons estate for $5.9 million.

While the final sale price is reportedly about one third of their original asking price listed in February, after personal renovations and touch-ups, they have certainly received a decent return from the $2.75 million price they paid for it in 2001. The property is 1.2 acres and the home, which is called Too Many Maples, features 5,500 square feet of living space and has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a heated pool, a guest house, and an artist’s studio.
Too Many Maples is a true country home which has the additional appeal of the secluded and comfortable feel of nature surrounding it. With antique wood flooring and vintage light fixtures, this deluxe farmhouse is a true countryside family retreat.

While they no longer are the proud owners of Too Many Maples in the Hamptons, the couple owns an additional home in North Haven, New York which they now most likely spend more time at.
