Haute Property: $65 million Malibu Estate

News | October 20, 2009

The most expensive estate to currently be on the market in Malibu is the Rocky Oaks Estate, which is listed for $65 million.

This 37-acre estate features a beautiful Tuscan-style home, a guesthouse and guard gate, pads for a potential helicopter landing site, and even your very own personal 9,500-vine vineyard. The hillsides that surround the Tuscan home are filled with citrus trees, fruit and nut trees, avocado trees , olive trees and more than 500 rosebushes. With that said, one can only assume that the previous owner will be able to make a great gardener recommendation to the new owners to help with tending the expansive land.

The home was designed by architect Bob Easton, and the only way to reach the 9,000-square-foot residence (besides that potential helicopter…) is to drive the 350-foot-long driveway, which also has a large motor court. The home is set to be completed this spring and the new owners will enjoy five bedrooms, five bathrooms, five fireplaces, tongue-and-groove and exposed-beam ceilings (including a 32-foot high living room ceiling), elevator access to all three floors, a wine tasting room, and a rooftop observation desk. Outside, owners can expect approximately 5,000 square feet of decking, an infinity pool with a spa, and an outside loggia.

The estate has been producing wine since 2006.
