The Cheeca Lodge and Spa resort is toying with the term “modern.” Known for their exclusiveness and supreme attention to luxury details, The Cheeca Lodge is currently undergoing a less than traditional construction phase by incorporating a large modular and concrete building to their grounds in Islamorada, Florida. It’s likely; however, that the current impression people are getting of this new concrete block will not actually represent the look and feel of what Cheeca has in store for the interior when it is complete.
Set to re-open on December 15th, 2009, the resort is building a green, 4-story Main Lodge adding more luxury suites to their long list of deluxe hide-aways. There were multiple 840 square foot suites delivered in their entirety that include top of the line bathrooms with marble floors, granite counter tops, and marble and glass rain showers. The novel modules are also fire-resistant and extremely well insulated making them energy efficient to coincide with the lodge’s new green approach, not to mention they are reportedly made of 30% recycled materials.
To ensure that nothing short of the lodge’s luxury standards are met, the suites will also include high impact glass windows and final touches such as mahogany crown moldings, doors and cabinetry, original art, and 20 foot wide balconies. The balconies will even be fitted with open air round tubs large enough for two individuals.
Cheeca’s renovations also include two new restaurants, a club floor with a sun deck, 2400 square feet of retail space, and an indoor-outdoor lobby lounge.
