High Rollers of Sin City
Daytime Debauchery for Him
Now that you have chosen the luxury locale to rest your head, it’s time to get out there and experience all that the city has to offer. For the men of Sin City, the options are endless, from a day of fun in the sun on championship greens to the traditional way to do Vegas by packing in all the gaming you can get at the elite casino rooms reserved for high rollers. Here are few of our choice recommendations.
Bobby’s Room at Bellagio
When it’s time to get down to the real business of Vegas, we would be remiss if we did not send our affluent audience to the ultra-exclusive Bobby’s Room at the Bellagio. While the rest of the gamers are taking advantage of the 40 tables in the 7,000-square-foot main Poker Room, our elite readers will be among the posh pool of players who know that Bobby’s Room is where the real action happens. Named after MGM Mirage executive Bobby Baldwin, who also happens to be the 1978 World Series of Poker Champion, the two-table, high-limit room is renowned as host of the highest action games in the world. We warned you the stakes are high here; buy-ins start at $20,000. Elegant, private, and full of entertainment, this is where the big boys come to play, where you are just as likely to go head-to-head with Jeffrey Katzenberg as you are to be taken by World Series of Poker winner Phil Ivey.
Poker Room at The Venetian
If you can’t seem to hook up with Lady Luck at Bobby’s Room, try your hand over at The Venetian Poker Room. While the 11,000-square-foot main room is dripping in luxe décor, the separate high-stakes area is where you want to be. The Salon Area hosts seven high-limit tables-five grouped together and two that are even more secluded in an enclosed setting for those celebrities and elite VIPs who require ultimate privacy-with butler service and gourmet dining. When planning your vacation agenda, keep in mind that the Sunday tournaments garner the most action and attention.
Race & Sport Book at The Venetian
When the paper cuts from the cards become too painful, there is still more gaming to be had. Step right up and place your bets at the Race & Sports Book at The Venetian. A haven for any sports fanatic, this 80-seat venue is so legendary that it consistently shows up on the top of any list for best entertainment options in the world. Out of the 42 TVs that line the walls, the largest looms over the hopeful spectators at 72 inches. From March Madness, BCS bowls, and French and U.S. Opens, to boxing matches and equine and motor races, this legendary den of debauchery is suitable for any sporting event broadcasted from anywhere in the world.
Golf at Wynn
You’ve played all day and partied all night, now it’s time for some good clean fun in the great outdoors, so a day of golf at Wynn is a must. Tom Fazio and Steve Wynn himself designed the par-70 championship course, which curves and bends throughout 173 acres. No living designer has more credits on Golf Digest’s list of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses” than Tom Fazio, so make sure to bring your A-game. The course is not only renowned because of the genius minds who brought it to fruition, but also because of its brilliant communion with Mother Nature. More than 1,100 trees, some more than 50 years old and 60 feet tall, were salvaged and relocated from the former Desert Inn Golf Course and more than 100,000 new shrubs add pleasing aesthetics to the existing beauty of the landscape. The land features are not the only magnetic attraction to these links, as water flows on 11 of the holes, culminated by a waterfall that cascades down 37 feet at the 18th hole.
