As a follow-up to a previous blog entry, heavyweight hedge-funder Steven A. Cohen’s 35,000-square-foot house has won board approval. The planning and zoning commission in Greenwich., Conn., has unanimously voted 5-0 to approve his request for a special permit. Mr. Cohen and his wife Alexandra’s application asks for clearance to build out an additional 1,145 square feet to their house on Crown Lane. It wasn’t a slam dunk approval process, as mansion build-outs in town have recently caused huge controversies. The T-shaped estate already boasts amenities like a hoops court, an indoor pool and a 6,374-square-foot ice rink complete with a garage for the Zamboni. Supposedly, the add-on is to include more storage, a garden room, a breakfast room, and an expansion of the “his” dressing room.
