Cartier’s New Collection

It seems as though Art Deco keeps popping up everywhere. People are talking about the style, and Cartier is responding, with it’s own twist. Since the early 1920s, the luxury brand has held a fascination with the Orient, and their latest collection, a desk set entitled the Exceptional Dragon Décor Collection features the Chinese mythological dragon throughout the entire series that includes pens, desk clocks, jewelry boxes, and table lighters. Highlighting the collection is a solid-gold Red Dragon fountain pen that was inspired by a 1920s Cartier lipstick case. The pen is encrusted with 522 diamonds that total to nearly four carats.  These pens are of course limited edition, and a series of eight numbered pens have been made, each positioned on a rock crystal stand in the shape of a cloud. The most expensive item in the collections is a rock crystal and onyx mystery clock resting over a ruby-eyed golden dragon figurine. The Dragon desk set ranges from $200,000- $640, 000.
