When Giants Collide

Fusion cuisine is what’s for dinner at some of today’s most upscale eateries so why not extend the innovation to fusion cars? Soon, thanks to automotive giants Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin, it seems that car consumers will be able to have the best of both worlds. Their imminent collaboration will have the two celebrated companies sharing engines, hybrids, transmissions and platforms. For many automobile aficionados, their partnering is a dream come true.

Internally recognized as Project Alligator, the collaboration is sure to raise a few eyebrows and swap what’s under the hood in the process. Those eagerly waiting can expect the likes of an AMG 6.2L V8 in a Vantage or an eight-speed Mercedes auto transmission in future Astons. Mercedes also anticipates incorporating their hybrid and diesel technology in the Aston Martins. For the not-so-savvy buyer, that means some of the most state-of-the-art, eco-friendly technology under the hoods of some of the world’s most coveted luxury sports cars. If the merge occurs, you’ll still floor it from zero to sixty in seconds but stay green while doing so.
Also looking to pair up with Aston Martin is Maybach, in hopes of revamping the Mercedes luxury-brand.

Before long, the indecisive car buyer won’t have to choose between their favorite makes and will simply drive one of these fusion cars off the lot. Check please!
