Voyages Jules Verne is currently giving a few fortunate people the opportunity to enjoy a cruise fit for a Pharaoh. Their 5-star propeller steam ship, the SS Misr, is a collaboration between the cruise company and associates at the Egyptian Bureau of Tourism. The ship was constructed in 1918 by the Royal Navy and later converted for use as King Farouk’s personal luxury liner upon which the king is said to have celebrated high profile events, including his own birthdays.

The exquisitely decorated ship that once ferried the king of Egypt up and down the Nile is now available to the discerning public. The 63-meter (207-foot) ship features 24 cabins and suites as well as restaurants, bars, sundecks, and pools. A large professional crew is available to bestow every amenity required to enjoy the history and luxury of this ancient region.
