Celebrities abound at Art Basel Miami Beach
The celebrities descended upon Miami Beach last week during the Art Basel Miami Beach festivities, which ran December 6-9, and The Miami Herald’s Lesley Abravanel left no stone unturned in her search for the biggest names in town.
SoHo House, which the Haute Blog covered just last week, held a party at the old Sovereign Hotel on Collins Avenue. The site is the future home of SoHo House’s Miami Beach branch. Abravanel labeled the party the “best place to do Basel away from Basel,” as the swank fest featured plenty of lounging space, plasma TVs everywhere, and plenty of champagne. Among those spotted at the festivities: Tommy Hilfiger (check out his celebrity residence here) and Dennis Hopper.
Russell Simmons, who recently purchased his estranged wife’s share of their Manhattan condo, co-hosted a charity event at Intermix on Collins Avenue, along with South Florida power couple Chip Brady and Allison Weiss Brady. The event raised $25,000 for Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, an arts education nonprofit.
Now that’s music to our ears.
