The Plaza Set for its Debut
After its $400 million, two-year renovation, The Plaza is set to debut late this year with new amenities. As the hotel races toward a centennial unveiling in October, scaffolding still remains around the structure and workers are still busy polishing the gem on Central Park South. Due to limited availability the iconic hotel has begun accepting reservations by phone for January 1 onward with nightly rates in the $775 to $1,275 range, even on Valentine’s Day, which still has availability. The reservation line is also maintaining a waitlist for rooms that could possibly become available from December 3 through 31. The hotel has said that it will open with two bars and two restaurants as well as a health club and spa by Caudalie.
