Nascar’s Jeff Gordon May be the 1st to Close on Fifteen Central Park West

What do you get when you pair up stellar developers and a legendary architect?

The answer has been embodied in the illustrious Fifteen Central Park West.

The building created quite the excitement even before its completion, as we had blogged about a month ago. With big names as the Zeckendorf borthers (who had given us inside scoop on the development when we featured them in Two Kings in New York), and Robert A.M Stern as architect, everyone who’s anyone wanted to get a piece of the property. From hedge fund manager, Daniel Loeb to Sting and his wife Trudie, to director Norma Lear ,and actor Denzel Washington…whom have all been working out contracts for the past tow years to close on a condo!

City records confirmed that the very first deal has closed on this Central Park jewel. Rumors are saying that the proud owner of unit 7C is Nascar racer Jeff Gordon who bought it for $9.7 million, after two years of contracting.

The two-tower development with 201 condos is expected to bring in close to $2 billion in sales. You can rest assured we’ll keep you posted on the notables who will whip out their checkbook for Fifteen Central Park West.
