On Thursday evening, Ambassador Paolo Zampolli held an extravagant birthday party at Provocateur NYC. The party was thrown by Paolo’s wife, Amanda Ungaro Zampolli.

On Tuesday, Nov. 9, the United Nations Foundation held a private ceremony to congratulate Amir Dossal on his “graduation” from the United Nations as executive director at the UN Office for Partnerships. Since joining the UN in 1985, Dossal has led a number of global initiatives aiding the efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, which include eradicating extreme poverty, reducing child mortality rates, fighting disease epidemics such as AIDS and developing a global partnership for development.

After the recent wedding of Carlos Slim Jr., the son of the most powerful man in the world, Carlos Slim Helu (Forbes magazine cover man who beat Bill Gates as the richest man of the world at $53.5 billion), Paolo Zampolli had a dinner in honor of Alejandro Agag and Albi Turbillia Slim in at 50 Gramercy Park North in New York City.

The Black Ball was held on Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. This annual benefit is hosted by Alicia Keys and her charity, Keep a Child Alive, which raises money for help treat and support families that are affected by AIDS. This year, the event raised more than $2.4 million.

On Oct. 5, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations gave a reception in commemoration of its 42nd anniversary of its National Foundation Day (Korean: 한국어). This holiday celebrates the creation of the state of Gojoseon (ancient Korea), founded by Dangun Wanggeom in 2333 BC. South Korea enjoys a rich and diverse culture. It has become one of the world’s most vibrant societies. The holiday is known as “Gaecheonjeol,” which means “the day when the sky opens.” H.E. Ambassador Park In-Kook and Mrs. Kim Mee Young welcomed a number of high dignitaries, ambassadors, and senior officials from the diplomatic community and international organizations. The UN Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon was among the special guests.

On Oct 4, Shad Azimi, international financier and the Founder and Managing Partner of Vanterra Capital, held a private dinner party at his SoHo loft in New York City. Among attendees were some of New York’s top investors and entrepreneurs.

Last week the United Nations hosted “Climate Change Week” together with the General Assembly in New York. Ambassador at Large Paolo Zampolli, recalling the success of his last dinner party, decided to create another event to honor this auspicious week and to witness once more his constant dedication to the environment.

Last week, 43 island nations and other countries gathered in New York for the United Nations Summit on the Millennium Development Goals. As part of this, the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) and UN member states conducted the five-year review of the Mauritius Strategy for Implementation, which focuses international attention on island development. AOSIS is currently celebrating 20 years of being at the forefront of the clarion call for urgent international action on Climate Change.

For the Launch of “Zampolli’s World” on hauteliving.com, Paolo Zampolli and his wife, Amanda Ungaro, hosted a dinner party at their residence at 50 Gramercy Park N. with Mamma Luisa cooking in Chanel couture. The party was reminiscent of the “Gatsby-days,” with an excellent mix of world business leaders, supermodels, telecom magnates, steel barons and billionaires. The theme of the party was “Forbes List, HNI (High Net-worth Individual), Models and No Pedestrians!”
