“Onward and upward!” Hollywood legend Robert De Niro was a man of few words during a presentation last week to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace, succinctly summing up the success of the boutique hotel, which he founded along with world-renowned Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa and producer Meir Teper.

The trio gathered on the lavish rooftop Nobu Villa along with Nobu Hospitality and Caesars Entertainment executives to praise the world’s first celebrity chef-branded hotel venture.

The hotel partners received a Key to the Strip from gubernatorial candidate Steve Sisolak and Nobu Hospitality’s Chief Executive Trevor Horwell shared the global luxury brand’s plans for 20 additional hotels by 2020.

Touting the partnership between Nobu and Caesars Palace, Caesars Entertainment CEO and President Mark Frissora announced a decade-long extension for Nobu in Las Vegas, including a refresh on the hotel’s 182 guest rooms and innovative technology enhancements.

“Caesars Palace has an impressive legacy of ‘firsts’–the legendary resort set the standard for luxury when it first opened,” said Frissora. “So, it comes as no surprise that we would be home to the world’s first Nobu Hotel. Even better, the success of this partnership has created the blueprint for what’s to come.”

Since opening in February 2013, Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace—home to the world’s largest Nobu restaurant—has welcomed a wide variety of A-list celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Miley Cyrus, Drake, Justin Beiber, Ed Sheeran and Tyra Banks. The brand itself has spread to five continents with properties in Manila, Miami Beach, Malibu, London, Ibiza, Palo Alto and Marbella. Hotels are in development for Barcelona, Riyadh, Los Cabos, Chicago, Toronto, São Paulo and Atlanta.

The Las Vegas location occupies the former Centurian Tower in Caesars Palace. Transformed into an elegant Japanese oasis through a multi-million dollar refurbishment, David Rockwell and his firm Rockwell Group led the overall interior design which includes unique chairs made by renowned wood furniture designer Fumitaka Tomita and artwork from contemporary Japanese artist, Takashi Murakami.

Details for the upcoming refreshment of the hotel’s 117 King rooms, 46 Double Queen rooms, 18 suites and Nobu Villa have yet to be announced.

Guests at Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace enjoy a private lobby, prioritized reservations at Nobu restaurant, a daily cocktail hour, fitness and business centers, and access to Ivy, a personalized virtual concierge service that assists with questions or requests via text.
