CHANEL Announces Its New Brand Ambassador: Penélope Cruz
French fashion house CHANEL announces its new brand ambassador, Penélope Cruz, who will be the face of the new 2018/2019 Cruise campaign.
Luxury French fashion house CHANEL has announced that Academy Award-winning, Spanish actress Penélope Cruz, will be its new brand ambassador. The talented beauty will also be the face of the brand’s new 2018/2019 Cruise campaign, shot by none other than Karl Lagerfeld.
In addition to winning the Oscar in 2009 for her role in smash hit Vicky Cristina Barcelona, alongside Scarlett Johansson, Cruz was also nominated for the prestigious award three times prior. She has worked with some of the biggest directors in Hollywood, including Stephen Frears, Alejandro Amenábar, Rob Marshall, Sergio Castellito, Woody Allen and Pedro Almodóvar. Other awards she has done include three Goyas, the Best Actress Award at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, a Bafta and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Académie des César this year.
Cruz has been a fan of the brand for quite some time, first attending one of its shows in 1999. She has opted for CHANEL’s Haute Couture gowns and outfits from the ready-to-wear collections frequently as well, for appearances at events including the Academy Awards, the Goyas, the Cannes Film Festival and a number of opening nights. In Pedro Almodóvar’s film Broken Embraces, she was also dressed by CHANEL.
