Flatiron Hotspot, Italienne, Re-Launches As Trattoria Italienne
Since opening last fall, Flatiron hotspot Italienne has been known in the area for their specialized cuisine from northern Italy and southern France. Realizing the property’s potential and wanting to have a true neighborhood feel, Co-proprietor James King and Executive Chef Jared Sippel have relaunched Italienne as Trattoria Italienne.
Under its new name, Trattoria Italienne will offer guests a brand new menu and a more relaxed vibe. With regional, rustic Italian cuisine in a comfortable setting, this is the perfect spot to bring both friends and family together. The menu focuses on plates that can be shared with the table as well as family-style pasta platters. New menu items include: Polpettine (pork meatballs with soft polenta and Calabrian chili agrodolce), Bigoli Della Casa (Bianca di Napoli tomato, pancetta, borlotti bean and hot pepper), and Martelli Spaghetti (head-on jumbo prawns with Calabrian chili and basil).
Brunch will officially launch Saturday, April 7 with stand out items including: large punch bowls for the table, Black Pepper and Bacon Breakfast Scones, and classic brunch dishes reimagined with an innovative and regional spin. The two different punch bowls, which serve 6-8 people, include the Island Bowl made with flor de cana rum, rhum j.m. white, pineapple, falernum and orange; and The Agave Bowl made with mezcal Koch, cimmaron tequila, jalapeno, cucumber, lemon, lime, and orgeat.
Coming this spring a new Sunday Supper series will also launch and feature a multi-course family-style meal with classic Italian dishes as well as Chef Jared Sippel’s signature offerings. And if happy hour is more your thing, Trattoria Italienne has two options for you: Aperitivo Hour from 5:30pm – 6:30pm, and Digestivo Hour, from 9pm until closing.
