Haute Living CEO Kamal Hotchandani celebrated a special birthday with close family and friends at Miami’s newest dining destination, Chotto Matte. The restaurant hails from London and officially opens to the public on Thursday, April 19th. Guests were treated to a sneak-peek of what’s to come from the trendy new hot spot that specializes in Japanese Peruvian-inspired cuisine (also known as Nikkei cuisine).

The spectacularly designed restaurant boasts state of the art features, such as a retractable roof highlighted by green foliage and palm trees, as well as a volcano-like centerpiece. The walls are decorated with a mix of popping colors that contrast beautifully against the black and white furnishings. Upon entry, guests can also notice a rotating wall that opens up like a door onto the side street of the restaurant tucked away on Miami Beach’s Lenox Avenue.

Dinner highlights included the signature yellowtail-based Nikkei Sashimi, Beef Tostadita, Tuna Tartare, a crispy and spicy Pollo Den Miso, tempura-crusted Gambas Salvajes, Asado De Tira, Smoked Lamb Chops and a platter of the spot’s famed fresh sushi to end the dinner portion. The food was complemented by glasses of Domaine Anderson Pinot Noir and Cristal Champagne, which were generously poured from decadent magnums table-side.

Upon conclusion of the dinner portion, a candlelit Vanilla Meringue Cake made by renowned Italian gem, Cipriani Miami, was brought out to the birthday boy amidst a chorus of “Happy Birthday” projecting throughout the space. Additionally, Chotto Matte brought out a delicious sweet dessert platter with caramelized bananas, mochi and more.
