Indulge In A Night Of Mystery With Chamber Magic At The Lotte New York Palace Hotel

It marks one year since renowned magician Steve Cohen found a new home for his incredible Chamber Magic show. Having launched the show at The Waldorf Astoria hotel in a private suite nearly 18 years ago, Steve Cohen continues to bring in audiences from all over the world but now they’re enjoying the show from the Madison Room at The Lotte New York Palace. Premiering at the Palace in March 2017, Steve has continued to perform five shows each weekend ever since.

The incredibly talented magician began practicing magic at the early age of six alongside his Great Uncle Nat Zuckerman. He performed his first show at the age of 10 and attended Tannen’s Magic Camp alongside fellow campers David Blaine and Adrien Brody at the age of 13. However, it wasn’t until he graduated from Cornell University that Cohen knew he was meant to make a career out of magic.

Chamber Magic has had such a profound affect on New York City, that Mayor Bill de Blasio declared October 6th as the city’s “Chamber Magic Day” with an official proclamation. Over 500,000 guests have participated in Steve’s sold out shows including Warren Buffet, Martha Stewart, Renee Zellweger, Jason Segel, Katie Couric, Woody Allen, David Rockefeller, David Copperfield, David Blaine, and more.

Chamber Magic is the perfect way to switch up a typical night out in New York City and a great excuse to dress up. Steve’s tricks will leave you jaw dropped and eager for an explanation. You will leave the show wondering, “How did he do that?!” especially when it comes to his “Think-A-Drink” performance.

The 90-minute show takes place fives times per weekend with 7pm and 9pm showings on Friday and Saturday as well as a 2pm matinee on Saturdays. Ticket are available online and cost $150 for first row seats, $125 for second or third row seats, and $100 for general admission.

Chamber Magic is currently ranked #1 of the top 10 theatrical events in New York City by TripAdvisor (whereas it was #7 a year ago), which takes all of Broadway into account.

We had the chance to catch up with the legendary performer on his new residency.

What has it been like performing at The Lotte Palace New York?

“Since moving to the Lotte New York Palace, the past year has been a whirlwind of sold-out shows. Chamber Magic is like a unicorn in New York – once you find out about it, you instantly send in your family so that they can experience it, too.”

What is your favorite part about performing?

“I want people to walk away from Chamber Magic with the idea that maybe magic really does exist. This isn’t a show about my skill, it’s about the magic that’s within us all of the time.”

**What can people expect from Chamber Magic?**

“Big, flashy magic certainly surprises you in the moment, but it rarely lingers with you after the performance. When I designed Chamber Magic, I wanted to create seemingly impossible moments that guests would talk about for years afterward.
