There’s a US and UK reunion tour happening with all five members of the Spice Girls in attendance.
In the past, both Mel C and Victoria Beckham have expressed their disinterest in reuniting the group.
“At some point, you’ve got to know when it’s time to say, ‘That was great.’ Girl power will always be out there and is something that we all still believe,” Beckham told British daytime show This Morning in 2017.
But it’s a new year and the slew of statements have been a special appearance on all of the Spice Girls’ social media accounts.
Five days ago Emma Bunton posted an image to her Instagram with all five members of the Spice Girls. “Great catch up with my girls! BFFs always. The future is looking spicy!” said Bunton. The rest of the girls too shared the same image along with sweet and moving sentiments. “These amazing women have helped me become who I am, so to all the girls out there remember ‘friendship never ever ends’!” said Mel B. Beckham joined in as well saying, “Love my girls!!! So many kisses!!! Exciting.” “Lovely seeing the girls girl power is alive and well,” said Geri Halliwell.
Admittedly, Mel C was late to post the same image that day but confirmed the then speculation using the hashtag girl power 2018.
Later that same day, the Spice Girls officially confirmed the speculations of a tour in a statement to EW, via Beckham’s publicist, Jo Milloy.
“We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together. We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls. The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together,” said the Spice Girls.
