Lionel Richie Calls Sofia Richie’s Relationship To Scott Disick “Just A Phase”

It’s a phase.

And, he’ll drink to that.

That is how Lionel Richie is dealing with his daughters dating life.

Richie’s youngest daughter, Sofia Richie, 19, is dating Scott Disick, 32.

“What does the dad think in all of this?” many have wondered.

Richie finds peace of mind in saying his daughter’s relationship is a phase.

“When you’re 19 you know everything. Is it going to be for life? I don’t know. But for right now it’s just a phase and I’m going to stand real still in the corner, get me a good drink and not make too much noise,” said Richie.

What he thinks about Disick hasn’t changed for better or worse, as he’s mentioned to his teenage daughter, and for one reason only.

He’s apprehensive.

Richie’s following comment is very telling of his apprehensiveness in believing Disick’s authenticity along with a subconscious opinion on the Kardashian’s as a whole.

“From what I met of him, he’s a very nice guy. When you hang around the reality world, who knows what you are really doing? This is a well-oiled machine, the Kardashian machine. I don’t really know what to think. I told Sofia I will have no opinion. I’ll continue to be my cheerful self and move on,” said Richie.

Regardless, the level of seriousness that he places on his daughter’s relationship with Disick seems to be slim to none. Instead, Richie recalls an experience in the past that he thinks he’s paying for now through his daughter.

“Now I know what my parents meant when I came through the door with my Afro and my girlfriend and said, ‘Dad, I’m in love’ and [he] looked at me and said, ‘Okay, we’re going to leave you alone for a minute and you’ll figure it out. My daughter is getting me back for my Afro days!” Richie jokes.
