The Best Places To Celebrate Mardi Gras In Las Vegas
Photo Credit: Yardbird Southern Table & BarMardi Gras in Las Vegas sounds like trouble except it’s not. Instead, it introduces you to the undiscovered melting pot of Creole cuisine and Mardi Gras-inspired entertainment. Las Vegas proves that it can be a contender for the New Orleans holiday. Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, is meant spent eating fatty foods before fasting for Lent. When there’s food involved, suddenly, the need to aimlessly day drink and flash civilians loses its appeal. However, if a boozy cocktail presents itself, do take it. Just don’t jeopardize your dignity for it.
1. MARDI GRAS FESTIVAL
Lake Las Vegas is hosting a community event for all ages. You can enjoy a parade, live music, and desserts. Proceeds from the event will benefit Dignity Health and KIT Foundation.
2. LOLA’S
Catfish and Gouda grits. Jambalaya with chicken, sausage, and shrimp tossed in rice. Oysters, crawfish…is your mouth watering yet? Lola’s is the real deal for Creole comfort food you’d swear you were in New Orleans. Celebration Fat Tuesday at Lola’s starting February 13. (Ask about their brunch!)
3. BIG AL’S OYSTER BAR

There’s a parade happening at The Orleans Casino and Hotel. There’ll be opportunities for pictures with the Mardi Gras Girls and a $9 cocktail called the “Hurricane”. Plus, you can stop by Big Al’s Oyster Bar afterwards for some fresh oysters.
4. YARDBIRD SOUTHERN TABLE AND BAR

Yardbird Southern Table And Bar is the new kid on the block whipping up crunchy fried chicken on golden brown waffles. They’re also serving daring boozy and spicy artisanal cocktails out of mason jars. This place is nowhere near a hipster location. It’s actually nicely situated inside the elegant The Venetian Hotel and Casino.
5. MONKEY BAR
Meet the French 75 at Monkey Bar. The $13 Mardi Gras-inspired cocktail is made by combining smooth Hennessy Black cognac, lemon juice and simple syrup. After it’s shaken with ice, strained into a flute and topped with Moet Imperial, the French 75 is ready to make you feel like the queen or king of the parade.
