The Most Tasty Indian Restaurants In Miami

Haute Cuisine, News | October 31, 2017

Miami is slowly but surely bringing a taste of inventive Indian cuisine to the city, from hot, upscale restaurants, to family-run, casual eateries to indulge in the authentic fare. Here, we take a look at some of the spots in the city that are bringing the finest of the ethnic cuisine to Miami. Here’s everything you need to know:

Ghee Indian Kitchen: Dadeland & Miami Design District

Ghee Indian Kitchen first debuted earlier this past spring at its original Downtown Dadeland location, and immediately received praise from the city for its fresh, locally-sourced ingredients used to create inventive Indian dishes like Niven Patel’s Backyard Pakora, soft and flavorful Dhokla and a large assortment of curries. The joint became so popular that owners Niven and Shivani Patel just opened a second location right in the Miami Design District, located in the former Cypress Tavern space. With two haute restaurants in prime locations, we can safely say that the dual owners are accomplishing their mission of bringing a fresh taste of Indian food to Miami—something we have long been needing.

Downtown Dadeland: 8965 SW 72nd Pl, Kendall, FL 33156

Miami Design District: 3620 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33137

The gorgeous restaurant at the famed Setai Hotel in Miami Beach is a must-try for adventurous foodies looking to get a taste of Indian-accented/Asian dishes. Dining here is a truly exceptional experience, as guests are transported into a romantic, upscale setting featuring both indoor and outdoor seating in the beautifully-lit courtyard of the hotel. Dishes like the Sea Bass Tikka, Chicken Masala, King Crab with coconut milk and tamarind, as well as the savory Truffle Dumplings keep its guests returning for more. The spot also recently launched its Sunday brunch, which has become one of the top brunch destinations in the city with a gourmet buffet and beautiful al fresco seating in the courtyard.

The quaint mom-and-pop restaurant run by husband and wife owners in Coconut Grove is the perfect place to indulge in Indian comfort food in a low-key setting. Bombay Darbar was one of the first to offer authentic Indian cuisine in Miami, and has maintained its loyal clientele over the years as it offers delicious specialties like flavorful vegetable samosas, rich tandooris, inventive meat dishes and flaky naan breads to accompany the endless array of sauces and chutneys.
