Farmshop is the Marin Country Mart’s flagship restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed but refined with an open kitchen, pizza oven, and 50-foot hand-sculpted wooden bar. The cuisine is quintessential Californian and a large garden is located directly behind the restaurant next to the parking lot. Order pizza topped with seasonal vegetables and charcuterie made nearby, avocado hummus with housemade lavash, spaghetti with Dungeness crab, or herb-roasted Jidori chicken with farro, charred ramps, and Marcona almond salsa. Craft cocktails and an extensive wine list round out the menu. Farmshop is open every day starting at 11:30 a.m.

You may have had Rustic Bakery’s signature long, skinny, rosemary crackers. The crunchy snack is ideal for serving alongside cheese and found at virtually every cheese shop in California. However, Rustic calls Marin County home and the Country Mart is its flagship bakery. Pick up baked goods, like the signature crackers, cheese coins, and breads, but also plan to enjoy lunch. Rustic makes sensational sandwiches, soups, and salads. The menu supplements beloved favorites (like egg salad with homemade mayonnaise and chopped chives or a club with roast turkey, smoked applewood bacon, and lemon aioli) with seasonal rotating items. For example, now in the summer, diners can enjoy the Havana sandwich with Cuban-style slow-roasted pork, espresso barbecue sauce, and brioche bun. Be warned: everything is excellently displayed and you’ll probably leave with a few items you didn’t know you needed. The fudgey chocolate peanut butter brownie is to die for.

Belcampo is a restaurant and butcher shop that specializes in organic, sustainable comfort foods. For avid home cooks in Marin, it’s the spot to shop for perfectly marbled, thick-cut rib-eyes and juicy, small, plump chickens—all raised humanely on Belcampo’s ranches. If cooking isn’t your thing, order a meat-centric meal from the kitchen. On the menu? Steak frites with béarnaise butter, red wine demi-glace and fries, lamb burger with black garlic aioli and onion sprouts, and chicken paillard with artichoke hearts, shaved asparagus, and agrodolce.
