From a haute rooftop pool soaring above the clouds in Back Bay to a waterfront location on Rowes Wharf, here’s a look at five of the best hotel pools in Boston where you can get your swim on this summer and winter.

1 The Colonnade Hotel

The Colonnade Hotel
It doesn't get much better than a rooftop pool with an incredible view of Back Bay. That's just what you get when you head up to the Rooftop Pool at The Colonnade Hotel where you can chill out poolside with a pitcher of fruity sangria while enjoying some snacks from the hotel's on-site restaurant Brasserie Jo. Be sure to arrive early as the RTP (as it is best known to locals) is available on first come first serve basis and the private cabanas and comfortable daybeds book quickly. From 12 stories above street level, you can also sign up for morning yoga classes with Rebecca Pacheco on Tuesdays and Thursdays in July.

2 Four Seasons Hotel

Four Seasons Hotel Boston
You might not expect to find a pool on the eighth floor of the Four Seasons Hotel in Back Bay, but this 44-foot stunner has some of the best views of the Public Garden that you will find in the city. Relax in the indoor pool or unwind in the adjacent whirlpool while checking out the beautiful views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Whether you come for a refreshing dip in the pool after reading the morning newspaper or check in for an afternoon of relaxation, be sure to stay hydrated with some fresh fruit and ice cold bottled water. Even better, order up some food and have it delivered to you poolside as you chill out on the deck.

3 Revere Hotel Boston Common

Revere Hotel Boston Common
We come to the Revere Hotel for the haute social scene at the Rooftop@Revere at night, but during the day, the indoor heated pool provides the perfect respite from city living. You can purchase a day pass and reserve a private cabana with some of your closest friends (small cabanas can accommodate up to four guests while larger ones are spacious enough for up to 30 people). After a dip in the pool here, head outside and order up one of their cocktails like a Boston Common Cucumba, Sukka Punch or Lady on the Charles and pair it up with some light bites like pulled chicken salad, lobster bites, a smoked bluefish pate or New England charcuterie.

4 Sheraton Boston Hotel

Sheraton Boston Hotel
Equidistant from the haute shopping found at the Prudential Center and Newbury Street, you can relax and unwind under the retractable roof on the fifth floor at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. This Back Bay property has some accolades of its own as it hosts Boston’s largest heated indoor/outdoor salt water lap pool complete with retractable roof that opens for fun in the sun during warmer summer months and closes during inclement weather. There is even a sundeck for lazy afternoon lounging after a day of shopping.

5 Boston Harbor Hotel

Boston Harbor Hotel
The on-site Rowes Wharf Health Club and Spa at the Boston Harbor Hotel is where you will find their impressive 60-foot lap pool. For an Olympic style rigorous swim, this health and fitness center comes complete with a fully equipped gym where you can work up a sweat before cooling off in the adjacent pool. Finish it all off by booking a treatment in the spa for the ultimate indulgent relaxation.
