Rihanna loves Chopard
In an exciting new collaboration global superstar, Rihanna has teamed up with Chopard to create her own line of jewelry. Rihanna worked together with Chopard’s Co-President and Creative Director, Caroline Scheufele, to create both an Haute Joaillerie collection, as well as some more accessible Joaillerie pieces.
The Haute Joaillerie collection will debut in May and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival, which is coincidentally also the 20th time that Chopard is the official partner of this event. Rihanna herself already gave two previews of the collection. One during the Grammy Awards when she wore stunning multi-colored earrings in a floral design, inspired by the gardens of Barbados, her home. The second preview was when Rihanna was featured on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar in March and showed off a pair of transformable diamond earrings from her collection with Chopard.
Diamonds are also available in the joaillerie collection. Here they decorate some of the geometric designs. All the pieces in this line-up have an urban chique look about them, with rose gold combined with jungle green ceramic. The design shares some design cues with the Ice Cube Collection by Chopard, but have a more contemporary feel to them.
Unique about the Joaillerie collection is that it is crafted from fairmined gold. This gold is obtained from small-scale mining organizations, of which the vast majority is locally owned. By educating the people in environmentally friendly mining techniques, they are able to extract the gold while doing a minimum of harm to soil, wildlife and their own health and living environment. By using fairmined gold, Chopard wants to contribute to a more sustainable future.
Pre-order of the Rihanna loves Chopard joaillerie collection is open now, and the first pieces are expected to arrive at the Chopard dealers and boutiques in June.
