Haute New Spot: Van Cleef & Arpels Opens in the Miami Design District
After undergoing five years of construction and meticulous planning, the two-level Van Cleef & Arpels boutique located in the Miami Design District has opened, and it’s more remarkable than anyone could have imagined. The quintessential Miami boutique located within the prestigious Palm Court incorporates aspects of the Magic City, while tying in the company’s rich history, fusing classic and modern design together to create one awe-inspiring masterpiece.
Along the facade of the boutique and inside the walls leading up to the ceiling, the store is decorated with delicate touches of leaves patinated brass and stone, paying homage to the brand and also incorporating elements of nature into the store. The space is open and airy, as the second floor looks straight down to the ground level with views of the Palm Court, painted in tones of white and sand as well as turquoise and flamingo pink–representative of Miami. The store, as well as the pieces, evoke a fairytale.
Some of the unique gems to this location include the dazzling Zip necklace–the boutique amazingly holds three versions of this–which serves a dual purpose as both a stunning necklace and bracelet, with a functioning zipper design; the Bouton d’or Collection, a gorgeous combination of diamonds, gold and mother-of-pearl handstones that come together in a bold collection popping with color of reds or greens; and of course an extensive offering of the brand’s emblematic Alhambra Collection, offered in various colors, diamonds and jewelry styles.
The boutique’s extensive selection of bespoke timepieces must be noted, which they refer to as The Poetry of Time. Each piece has a unique story of its own that explains all of the complexities and intricacies of each glittering timepiece. The Lady Arpels Papillon Automate is a standout, encrusted with beaming diamonds and shades of turquoise and blue. It incorporates a fluttering butterfly that is animated by the dial of the complication, as it beats to the rhythm of the wearer’s motion–the more they move, the more it flutters, representative of the symbiosis of Man and Nature.
Today marks the store’s grand opening and it is officially open for business located within Palm Court at:
