Inside Allied Screening with Marion Cotillard
Paramount Pictures with The Cinema Society & Chandon hosted a special screening of “Allied,”a romantic-thriller, directed by the Academy Award winning director, Robert Zemeckis ((The Walk, Cast Away, Forrest Gump, Back to the Future). The movie, believed to be based on events that occurred in World War II, deals with the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Brad Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beauséjour (Marion Cotillard) on a mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, they marry but their relationship is threatened when Beauséjour is believed to be a German spy.
The screening was held at the new iPic Theater; the after-party at The Tuck Room, the iPic Theater’s restaurant). Among the attendees from the film were Marion Cotillard, Simon McBurney, Robert Zemeckis; producer Steve Starkey and costume designer Joanna Johnston. Other guests included: Matthew Morrison, Paul Haggis, Valentino and Giancarlo Giammetti, Donna Karan, Bruce Weber, Sebastian Stan, Louisa Krause (Billions), Jeremy Strong (The Big Short, Masters of Sex), Anne McNally, Sandra Brant, Rosanna Scotto, Kiera Chaplin, Geoffrey Fletcher, Chaske Spencer, Will Cotton, Alexandra Agoston, Daniel Benedict, Alex Lundqvist, Cory Bond, Jake Davies, Vanessa Moody, Ian Mellencamp, Mark Seliger, Fern Mallis, Candy Pratts Price, and Cinema Society founder Andrew Saffir.
Allied was written by Academy Award nominee Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”, Locke, Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things) and produced by Academy Award winners Graham King, Robert Zemeckis, and Steve Starkey. In addition to Pitt and Cotillard, the film’s stars include Jared Harris, Lizzy Caplan, and Matthew Goode.
Throughout the lively evening everyone had a chance to sample the new cocktail called called the Chandon Beauséjour (named after Cotillard’s character) and were very happy to do so!.
