Morimoto Now Open at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas

Masaharu Morimoto, renowned Japanese chef and star of Food Network’s Iron Chef America, opened his contemporary Japanese restaurant Morimoto at the MGM Grand last Friday. The new restaurant dishes out sushi creations and cocktail offerings, including exclusive selections made just for the Las Vegas location.
 
The contemporary Japanese design of Morimoto features photographs by Yasumichi Morita, as well as a sushi bar and hibachi tables.

The menu includes Morimoto favorite, including appetizers such as toro tartare, tuna pizza, yellowtail “pastrami,” and oyster foie gras. Guests can order a pork chashu salad, mizuhiki Caesar salad and laksa noodle soup with tonkotsu broth, coconut milk and ground pork with red curry. Side dishes include blistered shishito peppers, spicy green beans with Chinese barbecue sauce and edamame.

Entrees include a seared snapper with Thai curry and mussels, braised black cod with a ginger-soy reduction, Angry Chicken with roasted peppers and Duck Duck Goose with duck meatball soup, duck confit fried rice and gooseberry compote.
For dessert, guests can order a fiery salty caramel chocolate tarte, coconut mango or doughnut with yuzu sugar and pastry cream.

Morimoto is open daily from 5 to 10 p.m. and until 10:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
