Haute 100: Serena Williams Wins Four Matches Without Surrendering a Set at the French Open

French Open

Haute 100 lister Serena Williams is having a great start at the French Open. The tennis star defeated Elina Svitolina 6-1, 6-1 in a fourth-round match Wednesday, making it her fourth wining match without surrendering a set.

After four days of rain, the 34-year-old finally got a chance to hit the court and only needed roughly 62 minutes to continue to reign as the No. 1 tennis player. After beating Svitolina, Williams now advances to the French Open quarterfinals. Although Svitolina was coached by Williams former competitor Justine Henin, it just wasn’t enough to beat Williams. For those of you who don’t remember, Henin competed against Williams nine years ago in the quarterfinals at Roland Garros. Henin, who has four French titles, dominated Williams all those years ago.

Next up, Williams faces unseeded Yulia Putinseva of Kazakhstan, who reached her first major quarterfinal by eliminating No. 12 Carla Suarez Navarro 7-5, 7-5.

The French Open is currently taking place at Roland Garros

Most recently, Williams showed off her amazing tennis skills in a slew of tennis tricks when she appeared on Dude Perfect. In the seven minute 41 seconds video, you see Williams with the men of Dude Perfect executing a number of tennis trick shots. The video commences with one of the men asking, “Serena there is a water balloon on the string what are you going to do with the water balloon.” Williams reply, “Pop goes the water balloon.” Unlike most of us, Williams easily served the water balloon on the first try.

Following the water balloon trick, Williams is seen serving another effortless shot to a can that sits upon one of the guy’s from Dude Perfect head. Prior to the serve, Williams admit she is nervous she will hit her fellow trick partner in the face. However, Williams is a true tennis star with lots of precision and of course easily hits the can off of his head.
