Haute 100: Adrienne Arsht Center to Host 10th Anniversary Gala & Honor Adrienne Arsht
In just a week, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County will host its 10th anniversary season gala concert. The one-night only concert will feature world-class artists from Miami as well as around the world, followed by a gala dinner.
Event-goers can look forward to a variety of world class artists including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, one of the world’s most celebrated dance companies led by Miami native Robert Battle; a performance by Craig Salstein, principal dancer of American Ballet Theatre, America’s national ballet company; Arturo Sandoval, Grammy, Emmy and Presidential Merit of Freedom award-winning trumpet master; Michael Feinstein, multi-platinum-selling entertainer dubbed as“The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook”; and Rachel Platten, rising singer-songwriter known for her massive Billboard chart – topping hits “Fight Song” and “Stand By You.” Guests will also enjoy thrilling performances from beloved community-based institutions and Arsht Center resident artists such as Florida Grand Opera Young Artists and Chorus, one of the nation’s most renowned opera companies currently celebrating its 75th anniversary season; American Pops Orchestra Conductor Luke Frazier conducts the multi-genre University of Miami Frost School of Music’s Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, with a special appearance by musical director and pianist Shelly Berg, legendary Grammy Award-nominated piano artist and Dean of the Frost School of Music; and Miami Mass Choir, the Arsht Center’s resident gospel choir now celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The haute soirée, which is slated to take place on Thursday, April 21st, will pay tribute to Haute 100 lister and benefactor Adrienne Arsht. It will be hosted by Andy Cohen, Bravo Tv’s Emmy Award-wining TV host, producer and bestselling author. In addition to honoring Adrienne Arsht, the gala’s honorary chairs, Sue Miller and Judy Weiser, will also recognized.
“The Arsht Center has become Miami’s cultural jewel. In the last decade, the Arsht Center has welcomed over 3 million patrons including more than 200,000 school children. I am delighted and honored to serve as Honorary Chair of the 10th anniversary gala, marking this momentous decade,” said Miller, in a statement released by the center.
Weiser added, “It took decades to plan and build the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and it is clear that its first ten years of performances and community out reach have far exceeded what we all dreamed of all those years ago.The Arsht Center has made such a transformative difference to our city and our cultural lives.”
Tickets start at $2,500. If you opt to sponsor a table, sponsorships start at $15,000. Gala proceeds will support the center’s mission to enrich the Miami-Dade community through arts education and community outreach programs.
