Where to Enjoy a $1,000 Ice Cream Sundae In Vegas

Serendipity 3

If you’ve seen “Sex and the City,” the John Cusack/Kate Beckinsale feature called “Serendipity,” or if you’ve ever stopped in for an ice cream treat in Manhattan, you know about Serendipity 3. Here in Las Vegas, just outside the big top home of Absinthe, outside of Caesers Palace, we have our own location.

Defined as “…the art of making happy discoveries, or finding the unexpectedly pleasant by chance or sagacity,” Serendipity was the perfect description of three young men living in New York City who pooled their combined fortunes of three hundred dollars and in 1954 staked a claim to a location on East 58th Street.

Our happy discovery (which happens to cost more than their combined fortunes) is Serendipity 3’s Golden Opulence sundae. The extravagant $1,000 sundae holds the Guinness World Record for Most Expensive Ice Cream Sundae in the World and is served in a Baccarat Crystal Glass, the same glass used at the Vatican for the Pope. The Golden Opulence Sundae features 24-karat edible gold leaf from Switzerland, 24-karat gold dust flakes, edible gold dragees, edible sugar flowers painted with edible gold, Tahitian Vanilla Bean ice cream (the most expensive in the world), chocolate truffles and candies from Paris, exotic fruits and passion fruit-infused caviar. After enjoying, guests keep the Baccarat Crystal Glass and gold-plated spoons.

The over-the-top desserts and sweets are perfect for the ultimate indulgence, and whether you’re impressing your sweetheart, inflating your expense account, or taking your winnings from the poker table to the dessert one, this is the place for you.

The luxurious space also went through an expansion, and exciting new features include a whimsical 26-ft. tall Tiffany-style lamp flanking the expanded outdoor patio. It now features a full bar complete with counter seating and several high-definition televisions, providing guests a front-row view of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip and iconic Caesars Palace fountains.

Whether you’re watching travelers wander by on the Strip, or cozying up to your loved one while savoring this truly extravagant dessert, this is one memory that you won’t forget. And when someone asks you where your gold-plated spoons came from, you can tell them all about it.
