MIA: Veuve Clicquot En Route Truck’s Final Destination

Veuve got mail! When we received the invitation to the closing event of the 23-city Veuve Clicquot National Tour on Oct. 17, we couldn’t resist a Saturday saturated in the staple brand of bubbly. The takeover, which ended a 15,000-mile road trip in a giant Clicquot Yellow mailbox-shaped En Route Truck, was inspired by the champagne’s mailbox gifting offer, which features a tin mailbox with one 750-milliliter Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut bottle inside.

The posh party commenced at bustling, four-month old Italian eatery Louie Bossi’s, situated on famed Fort Lauderdale strip, Las Olas Boulevard. The scene was energetic upon entry, from the Veuve En Route-branded cornhole and Jenga street-side games to the plethora of eaters and imbibers enjoying the stacked Saturday (also available on Sunday) brunch experience.

The featured event took place on the grounds of the 2,000-square-foot al fresco piazza, where guests of Veuve were checked in and wristbanded. Each band came with five tearing tabs, allotting attendees five flutes of bubbly from noon to 3 p.m. We opted for the Rosé all day, which provided a refreshing afternoon indulgence at the open-air autumn affair. Complimentary Veuve folding fans and standout shades were the perfect shields to keep us looking and feeling our coolest.

Although Veuve was the afternoon starlet, once hunger pangs kicked in, her gastronomic co-star was heavy in the spotlight. Our ticket into this boozy bash included a sampling of Chef Louie Bossi’s scrumptious brunch smorgasbord. A platter of four open-faced bruschetta sandwiches were slathered in deliciousness (our favorites were the caponata and mushroom conserva), while pizzas outfitted in marguerita and quattro formaggio were perfect for soaking up the sparkling suds.

We posed with the oversized Veuve Yellow photo frame to commemorate the occasion and then hopped on the branded motorbike to strike a few poses. As we topped off our designated refills of bubbly bliss, we made sure to send postcards to be delivered via #ClicquotMail to our friends and family tagged: Wish You Were Here!
