Chanel at South Coast Plaza debuted a gorgeous and golden new look on April 23rd.
The store, which first opened in 1990, has been transformed by architect Peter Marino into a 9,000 square foot gilded haven of supreme luxury—2,000 square feet more than before its renovation.

The brand’s Costa Mesa boutique new look is sea-inspired. Here you’ll find wavy motifs, pearlescent finishes and textures that evoke movement as well as a soothing color palette of oceanic blues and pale greens with coral-inspired lilacs and pinks are set against signature Chanel shades of black, white and gold, reflected in bespoke fabrics.
An installation by contemporary abstract artist Nancy Lorenz with gestural ivory lacquer and gold wall panels that recall the hushing sounds of the sea is first thing high-end shoppers will see.

Moving on, you’ll find a salon uniquely dedicated to watches and fine jewelry. Stunning Maison d’Art Goossens chandeliers hang prominently overhead, while gold silk curtains with appliqués additionally accentuate the golden sea theme.
The 18k white gold Mademoiselle Privé Camélia watch with its 60 brilliantly cut diamonds will celebrate its exclusive global launch at the South Coast Plaza boutique in conjunction with the reopening. The salon will also feature a selection of Haute Horlogerie pieces, including a diamond and pink sapphire Mademoiselle Privé Camélia and Mademoiselle Privé Camélia Tourbillon.

Stepping into the salon even further, you’ll find not one but two rooms dedicated to accessories. The walls in the first salon, which highlight a selection of exotic handbags and accessories, are adorned with a handmade gold woven material designed especially for the boutique. A pair of white sculptural chairs by the French artist Ingrid Donat serves as decor for the splendid second room, where handbags, sunglasses and costume jewelry are displayed.

The boutique has additionally made its grand re-debut by showcasing the Spring-Summer 2015 Ready-to-Wear Collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld, first shown in Paris at the Grand Palais; the energetic collection features electric bursts of color shown in beautifully soft fabrics balanced by refined silhouettes. The Ready-to-Wear collection is available in two salons that feature wave-like wall finishes created by local artisans, which pay homage to the stunning Southern California coastline.
