Interior Design’s Most Prestigious Show, Maison and Objet, Headed to Miami Beach
Maison and Objet, the design world’s most important show, is coming to Miami Beach May 12th-15th. The high-end design show is famous for it’s Parisian edition, and is branching out à la Art Basel. The Maison & Objet event is expected to follow a similar pattern as Miami’s other major shows, bringing in a high-end crowd for satellite events and, of course, parties.
Managing director of SAFI, Philippe Brocart (the company which owns and runs M&O) introduced the Miami Beach show back in September and Mayor Philip Levine expressed his enthusiasm about the highly curated trade event, which will be taking place at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
It is said that the Miami Beach show will be much like the Paris show, featuring only the best exhibitors in the world of design. In addition to furniture, the show’s emphasis on “objet” means there are beautiful linens, tableware and gorgeous fabrics galore. Even chic gardening tools have been seen at the expo.
Miami’s incarnation is expected to draw in more people from Latin America. The Miami Beach edition comes after Maison & Objet Asia, which takes place in Singapore, and seems like a natural choice for anyone wanting to access Latin America from the US.
