Supermodels Plan Charity Events For LFW

News | January 29, 2015

As London fashion week inches closer, and as schedules get tighter, supermodels Naomi Campbell and Natalia Vodianova are making sure to do their bit for causes close to their hearts.

Kicking off London Fashion Week in style will be Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief Show, which will take place at BFC HQ at Somerset House, the fashion epicentre of the capital. Comprising a star-studded runway of Naomi’s friends, who have in the past included the likes of Kate Moss and Daphne Guinness, the stylish night will also feature an auction of special items. Proceeds from the evening will go to the Disaster Emergency Committee: Ebola Crisis Appeal, a poignant charity for the supermodel. “I’m thrilled to return to London to open London Fashion Week for this very special cause,” she said. “The Fashion For Relief Show is an incredible event and this year we hope to raise more money than ever before. Raising awareness for Ebola and educating about its prevention is crucial to help prevent the spread of this deadly disease.” Tickets for the event are priced at £50 and go on sale tomorrow to the general public.

Russian sweetheart Natalia Vodianova is also not far behind when it comes to organising show-stopping fundraisers. Taking place on 24 February at the Roundhouse in Camden, the supermodel plans a fun fair in aid of her own charity, The Naked Heart Foundation, set to coincide with the stylish happenings of London Fashion Week. Co-hosted by fellow model Karlie Kloss, the event, named The World’s First Fabulous Fund Fair, aims to raise £1 million, which will go towards helping children with special needs and their families. “This fun fair will have all the elements that excited and thrilled us when we were children, like ice cream, junk food and attractions, but it will also involve all the brands and personalities that we love as adults,” said Vodianova. With a Supermodel Kissing Booth hosted by world beauties Toni Garrn and Vodianova herself, as well as Louboutin high-heeled Olympics and face-painting by Pat McGrath, it seems as if the supermodel certainly knows how to throw a party. A limited number of tickets, priced at £1000 are set to be released soon, with some 500 guests expected to attend the event.
