While I was in Los Angeles, I was invited to The Bazaar located in the SLS Hotel for an exclusive dinner featuring Spanish-influenced cuisine and carefully crafted Botran Rum cocktails hosted by Emilio Estefan. My new favorite cocktail is a mojito created with Botran Rum. I cannot claim to know what is “good” rum, but I can tell you that this bold, pure, smooth taste was heavenly! Perfect for sipping by the pool in the summer, on vacation or as a perfect sundowner. It certainly was a perfect addition to what turned out to be a perfect evening!
During the dinner, Botran Rum sponsored a philanthropic, social media face off between the celebrity diners that included Will Smith, Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria, Gloria Estefan, Kathy Griffin, Kenny Ortega, Lance Bass, David Foster, Kate Del Castillo, Eduardo Yanez, Wilmer Valdarama, Eduard Verastigui and George Lopez.
Guests were challenged to see whose Twitter and Instagram posts, using #BotranRum, could garner the most social media attention. It was my dear friend Ross Matthews that secured first place, winning a $10,000 contribution towards the charity of his choice on behalf of Emilio Estefan and Botran Rum.
The combination of delicious food by Chef Jose Andres, Botran Rum, great company and a philanthropic theme made this a memorable evening!
