Ready to check out of bustling Miami, but your trip to St. Tropez isn’t until next month? Here are a few of our favorite Florida Getaways for relaxing just a stone’s throw away from South Florida, no flying required.

1 Little Palm Island Resort & Spa

Check in on the mainland and leave all your cares behind as you take the ferry to Little Palm Island. Fishing, kayaking and even feeding the native key deer are all great ways to pass the most relaxing, blissful time you've had. Dining under the stars with your feet in the sand is the best way to experience their gourmet restaurant, which is arguably the best restaurant in the keys. If you're lucky, one of the guests will take to the piano and play a tune after dinner. If you're really lucky, it will be Billy Joel.

2 The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island

If you want action, visit the Amelia Island during the Concours d'Elegance, if you want quiet, go anytime the rest of the year. Amelia island is the southern most of the South Sea Islands and has seven golf courses and not a whole lot else—perfect for peace and quiet. Walk the beach, get a signature Hammock Massage from the spa, and disconnect.

3 Hyatt Key West Resort & Spa

Yes, it's a Hyatt. But it's also the best place to stay in Key West, especially if you want to have a little beach (most places in the Key West don't), relax and stay away from the Mardi-Gras style madness of Duvall Street. Jala spa is small but stellar and the food at Shor American Seafood Grill, served in their open-air, waterfront restaurant is so good, you won't even need to venture out for meals.

4 Useppa Island Club

Old Florida is alive and well at this private island situated in the Gulf. As is is a private club, Useppa Island is open only for members or hotel visitors to the Collier Inn, which is every bit a quaint, historic inn. Croquet, kayaking, biking and of course, boating are the favored activities if you choose to do anything at all!

5 The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples

This California-style spot makes you feel like you're on the west coast, not just of Florida, but maybe the whole United States. Of course, the reason to go here is the great golf on Tiburon, but the spa, the wildlife and open fire pit in the evenings will transport you to a totally new, relaxed place. The best part is you can bring Fido too.
