Jennifer Nicholson may be known in part for her famous father, actor Jack Nicholson, but she is also a fashion designer who has headlined in Los Angeles and showcased her collections in New York and Paris.
On Friday, Nicholson will be opening Pearl Drop, her new boutique on Lincoln Boulevard in Venice, which will feature mostly California-based designers as well as her own designs. According to The Los Angeles Times, Nicholson took a five-year hiatus from fashion and is returning with a retail bang, opening her a new boutique in the heart of an up-and-coming retail area of Venice, “known as the LincInside.”
According to the store’s Facebook page, Pearl Drop offers “leather goods, luxury bohemian designer and vintage clothing as well as treasured handmade artisan jewelry.”
Nicholson’s Santa Monica store, Pearl, closed in 2005, so The LA Times notes, Pearl Drop is a play on her former boutique. The inside of Pearl Drop reportedly features “inspired antiques culled from Nicholson’s Malibu beach house…mixed with rustic wood and mystic crystals.”
The store will offer numerous great designs from local designers and Nicholson herself. There will be Mara Hoffman tribal-print tops, Pamela Barish sari dresses, Calleen Cordero sandals, Nicholson’s leather pants, biker jackets, kimonos, and more. There will be something for everyone and prices range from $70 to around $3,000.
The LA Times notes that Nicholson also plans to offer beverages from Moon Juice in a courtyard along with “yoga workshops with her kundalini yoga teacher.”
Pearl Drop is located at 328 S. Lincoln Boulevard in Venice.
