Domingo Zapata Teams Up with Haute Living For A Commissioned Cover Series
Haute Living is commissioning contemporary artist Domingo Zapata to paint twenty-four feature covers. His debut cover is the September/October issue of Haute Living Los Angeles, which features renowned magician David Copperfield.
“It is a honor to have someone like Domingo Zapata commissioned to do artwork for the next 24 covers for Haute Living, as I am hoping that these covers will be in our subjects’ offices and homes for years to come,” said Haute Living publisher Seth Semilof.
Zapata and Semilof recently attended one of Copperfield’s shows at the MGM in Las Vegas, where Zapata was a personal guest. Backstage, he presented Copperfield with the painting.
“I can’t thank Haute Living enough for giving me the opportunity to work with such iconic figures and for letting me express myself though their impactful covers—I feel blessed to be able to create works based on the magic that the photographers use to create the cover images,” said Zapata.
The presentation comes a week after an exciting and successful viewing reception for the works of Zapata and actor/painter Jordi Molla. Amongst the elite attendees were Johnny Depp and Mohamed Hadid.
