As Valentine’s Day approaches, many indecisive individuals still have no plans with their loved one’s. But if you are still looking and want to try something out of the ordinary roses and chocolates, why not take them to Miguel Paredes gallery opening in Wynwood Arts District?
Miguel Paredes, a New York-native, now based in Miami, is an urban realist, sculptor, and pop and multi-media artist whose exhibitions and events were a hit in Art Basel Miami Beach 2010. He will launch his first functional 3D interior mural in his new studio space, Paredes Fine Art Gallery. The event will take place on TODAY, February 12 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., the weekend before Valentine’s Day. The event also coincides with Wynwood’s “2nd Saturdays Art Walk”, a monthly event where art galleries in Wynwood open their doors to enthusiasts and curious minded of the arts.
The guests will enjoy live music by international DJ Sam Popat and local DJ Ari X, along with complimentary “Sapphire Dhiva” signature cocktails sponsored by Bombay Sapphire, Heineken art bars, and Appelton Rum drinks. Light hor d’oeuvres will be provided by Vinyl & Kai, Miss Yip, National Hotel Miami Beach, Kind Healthy Snacks, and Sweet Street petite desserts.
The new studio boasts a space of 5,500-square-feet and will feature Paredes previous popular works, a small retail boutique which includes art and colorful merchandise, as well as work from his past collections such as Boroughs, Urban Dreams, New York Stories and Culture in a Bag. In addition, Paredes will reveal his first functional 3D interior mural-wrapped room entitled Brownstone Lounge, a collaboration with local interior designer and 3D specialist Jeff Vaughan and Broadway scenic designer and producer Antonio Marion, CEO of Marion Theatrical Productions in New York City, which represents the image of the artist’s childhood home.
