This past sunny weekend marked vintage fashion historian and photographer Rin Tanaka’s second annual Inspiration showcase. High-end vendors from around the world, highly obsessed with the culture of “California cool,” invaded the Queen Mary in Long Beach to share pricey, nostalgic threads and housewares. On display and for sale: mint condition concert tees priced in the hundreds, bad boy motorcycle jackets, and World War II navy heirlooms in the form of uniforms, leather carry-alls, and industrial lighting.
