Law Webinar: Attorney Michael Kosnitzky, On “The Cusp Of Change” And Assessing Risk

Expert attorney Michael Kosnitzky, Private Wealth Law partner Michael Kosnitzky of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, joined Haute Lawyer for a live webinar about “the Cusp of Change,” which he defines as, “a transition point. My role as co-chair of the private wealth group at Pillsbury is to represent the ultra-wealthy individuals, families, and family offices, and assess risk for them.”

Kosnitzky was hosted by Haute Living’s April Donelson and Haute Lawyer’s Kendall Fergusson. Watch the webinar below.

Kosnitzky, co-leader of Pillsbury Winthrop’s Private Wealth practice, advises some of the world’s most well-respected individuals, families, and privately held businesses, using a holistic risk-assessment approach to the law.

Michael has been recognized as a Trust and Estates Trailblazer by the National Law Journal for his focus on where IRS policy is going and not necessarily where it stands today.

Michael, who is also a certified public accountant, is a prolific writer on diverse tax topics. He is co-author of two treatises on S corporations: The S Corporation: Planning and Operation and The S Corporation Answer Book, both Wolters Kluwer publications.

Kosnitzky touched upon the effects that the upcoming election can and will likely have on taxes for different income brackets, legislation on estate taxes, and more.

Michael Kosnitzky highlight quotes from the webinar:

“Where you stand is where you sit, and where you sit is where you stand.”

“Pillsbury has been around for 151 years. It’s an iconic firm with iconic clients. I was honored to join the firm with my team.”

“My goal with my clients is to do the following: live well, be secure, be protective of your assets, and live to fight another day because administrations and situations change. Be ready when things change again. If we knew what a black swan event was, it would not be a black swan. In order to limit our exposures, and think long-term.”
